  Meeting the collector Selim Varol and seeing his more than 10,000 toy figures inspired artist duo Daniel (born 1966) and Geo Fuchs (born 1969) to create their latest photo series: »Toygiants«. Following the successful exhibition in the Museum Villa Stuck in Munich in 2006, which predominantly showed political characters, this lavishly designed picture series offers a unique insight into the wide range of extraordinary plastic »heroes« and fantasy figures.

  Toypunks is a documentary film that's underway and scheduled for release in fall 2007. In this movie we'll be offering a rare first-hand glimpse of the converging worlds of Japanese street, punk and toy culture through in-depth interviews and on-location shooting in Japan and the US. We'll be sitting down with several of the top fashion designers, toy makers and artists in Japan and illuminating the fact that most of these influential creators find deep roots in DIY, punk and outsider attitudes.   Erick Scarecrow’s Liberty

  Erick Scarecrow's Liberty vinyl figure will debut in this month's New York Comic Con. We have seen several sneak peeks over the last few weeks but now finally Esc Toys has released full fledged pictures of this wonderful piece of artistery and craftmanship. You gotta love the originality of the figure and its take on the statue of liberty as we know it. In short: A musthave for any designer toy collector!
